Terms of Service
Last updated September 24, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Crumbtrail (“Crumbtrail”, “we”, “us”) for using crumbtrail.app, the creator studio, and the review maps we host (together, the “service”). By using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. Who can use Crumbtrail
Fans can view public maps without an account.
Creators (anyone who opens an account to build a map) must be at least 13 years old. If you’re 13 to 17, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian, and they must agree to these terms on your behalf and are responsible for your account, including any payments. If you open an account for a business or brand, you confirm you’re allowed to agree to these terms for it.
2. Your account
- You log in with a link sent to your email, so keep your email account secure.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us right away at crumbtrailmaps@gmail.com if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
3. Plans, billing and cancelling
- Free plan: build and preview your map in private. It isn’t visible to the public until you move to a paid plan. Plan limits (such as the number of reviews) are shown on our plans.
- Paid plans are billed monthly, in advance, and renew automatically each month until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe, and you also agree to Stripe’s terms when you pay. Prices don’t include any taxes that may apply.
- Cancel any time from “Manage billing” in your studio. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you’ve already paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan: your map becomes private again, but nothing is deleted, and you can upgrade again whenever you like.
- No refunds for partial months or unused time, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails and can’t be collected, your account may move to the Free plan in the same way.
- We may change prices or plan features. We’ll tell you by email before a price change affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
4. Your content
You own the reviews, scores, notes, logos, video links and other material you add (“your content”). To run the service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display and share your content as part of the service, including showing your public map to anyone with the link and to search engines. We may also show your public map, its name and screenshots of it to promote Crumbtrail. Email us if you’d like us to stop featuring your map in our marketing. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we reasonably need to keep for backups or legal reasons for a limited time.
You’re responsible for your content. You agree that:
- Your reviews are your honest opinions and experiences.
- You won’t state things as facts that you know are false, or that could unfairly harm a business or person.
- You have the rights to anything you upload, such as logos, and to any videos you link to.
- If you’re paid, sponsored or given free products for a review, you’ll disclose it as advertising rules require (for example, the U.S. FTC’s endorsement guides).
Reviews on Crumbtrail maps are the opinions of the creators who wrote them, not of Crumbtrail.
5. Things you can’t do
- Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
- Post content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or violent.
- Impersonate someone else, or mislead people about who you are.
- Post someone’s private information without their permission.
- Infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Send spam, or use the service to advertise unrelated things.
- Try to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, test or break our security, or interfere with the service.
- Copy or scrape the service or other creators’ maps with automated tools, or resell the service, without our written permission.
6. Removing content and closing accounts
We may remove content, pause a map, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why. You can delete your reviews at any time in your studio, and you can ask us to close your account by emailing crumbtrailmaps@gmail.com. If you close a paid account, section 3 applies to billing.
7. Maps, places and other services
Map data, addresses, place search and directions come from third parties such as Mapbox and may not always be accurate or current. Places can close or change, so check before you go. Video links take you to other services such as TikTok, YouTube or Instagram, which have their own terms. We aren’t responsible for other services or their content.
8. Changes to the service
We’re always improving Crumbtrail, so features may change, be added or be removed. We may also stop offering the service. If we ever shut it down, we’ll give paying creators reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
10. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Crumbtrail won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of your content or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, to the extent the law allows.
12. Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem, please email us first at crumbtrailmaps@gmail.com and we’ll try to sort it out informally. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll let creators know by email or in the studio before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
